Assoc. Prof. Michael Hurrell is an Oral & Maxillofacial, Head & Neck and Reconstructive Surgeon with dual medical and dental qualifications (BDSc Hons, MBBS) and a PhD in Facial Trauma. He also holds a specialist fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS OMS) and a head and neck cancer and microvascular reconstruction fellowship from Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, a state-of-the-art cancer centre specialising in advanced treatment and research for rare and complex cancers. 

Assoc. Prof. Hurrell holds an academic appointment at the school of medicine and dentistry at Griffith University and is the current Queensland Director of ANZAOMS, the professional representative organisation for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within Australia and New Zealand. Assoc. Prof. Hurrell is also the Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital and actively contributes to surgical education, research and innovation. His practice philosophy centres on technical excellence, thoughtful diagnosis, collaborative planning and compassionate patient care.
